More than a plan.

Financial Planning + Investment Management + Tax Prep

Ongoing financial planning

A dedicated financial decision partner for families with complex financial lives. If your financial picture has many moving parts, or if you just sense your money should be working harder than it is, this service is built for you.

What ongoing planning
actually means.

Most financial advisors see you once a year and call it planning. We work differently. You get a decision partner, not a report. Someone who knows your full picture and is ready when life happens, not just when the calendar says so.

  • Access to your advisor between meetings, by phone or email
  • Tax planning tied to your decisions and life events
  • Coordinated investment management across all your accounts
  • Annual personal tax return preparation included
  • Twice-yearly planning meetings, plus check-ins when your life changes
  • Equity comp strategy: RSU sell-down schedules, option exercise planning, concentrated position management
  • Employee benefits review every open enrollment
  • End-of-year tax projections so there are no April surprises

Our
process.

We call our process The LifeSighted Lens™ system because most financial plans only show you part of the picture. To build a strategy that actually works, we need to see all of it. Your income, your investments, your taxes, your goals, and the decisions coming down the road.

It’s an approach designed to bring your full financial life into focus, so every recommendation we make accounts for everything else. Not just your portfolio. Not just your tax return. The whole picture.

And like any good lens, it gets clearer over time. The longer we work together, the sharper the view of what’s ahead.

01

Survey

We meet to get to know each other. You ask questions, we ask questions, and we decide together whether this is the right fit. No pressure, no pitch.

02

Gather

We go deep on your financial picture: your documents, your goals, your concerns, and the things that keep you up at night.

03

Focus

We identify the highest-priority action items and sequence them in a way that makes sense for your situation.

04

Sharpen

We work through your plan together, monitoring it as your life evolves and making strategic shifts when new opportunities arise.

In year two and beyond: We typically meet twice a year, though we’re available between meetings when something comes up. Meetings cover investment performance, progress toward goals, tax planning, and whatever is top of mind for you.

Topics we cover together.

Ongoing planning isn’t a fixed menu. It evolves with your life. Here’s a sample of what we regularly work through with clients.

  • Life design and goal setting
  • Student loans
  • Income, cash flow, and budgeting
  • Insurance review
  • Savings strategy
  • Tax planning and preparation
  • Net worth tracking
  • Investment management
  • Stock options and RSU planning
  • Retirement readiness
  • Employee benefits optimization
  • Estate planning basics
Where Financial Planning
Meets Tax Efficiency.

Tax planning and tax preparation are included in every ongoing planning relationship.

Most financial advisors hand you off to a CPA who doesn’t know about your equity comp, multiple income streams, or your overall planning context. We keep it all in one place.

Your tax return is prepared by the same team that built your plan, so nothing gets lost in translation.

One personal return included. Additional returns (married filing separately, business, trust, child’s return) are available at a discounted rate for ongoing clients.

Your Investment in You.

Ongoing relationships start at
$9,900 / year

Your fee depends on the complexity of your financial life. Things like complex equity compensation, business ownership, rental real estate, more involved tax or estate planning, and the size and makeup of your portfolio may increase your fee.

We’ll survey your situation together, then outline how we can help and what it will cost before we decide whether to work together.

Is Ongoing Planning
Right for You?

Ongoing planning works best when your financial life has multiple moving parts, and you want a team that stays on top of all of it. Most people who reach out have already been thinking about this for a while.

Our clients are typically in a high-earning, asset-accumulating phase, not a high-net-worth, already-arrived phase. The value of planning is highest when there are still major financial decisions ahead of you: equity vesting, a home purchase, a job change, a business, or kids. If your income is high and your financial life is complicated, the complexity itself is the reason to get organized now.

Filing a return and planning around your taxes are two different things. Most CPAs are doing the former. What they typically don’t do is coordinate your tax situation with your equity vesting schedule, your investment accounts, your spouse’s income, and your goals for the next five years. That’s the gap we fill—and at LifeSighted, we handle both the strategy and the return.

That’s exactly why this works. We do the ongoing monitoring, the planning, and the tax prep so you don’t have to. What we ask from you is two substantive meetings a year and a willingness to loop us in when something big changes. Everything else, we handle.

Complicated is normal here. We work with tech professionals holding every kind of equity compensation, startup founders, owners of small and medium size businesses, and households juggling rental properties, multiple entities, and state returns. If your situation has outgrown generic advice, you’re exactly who this practice was built for.

If you have a specific set of questions and aren’t ready for an ongoing relationship, our one-time comprehensive financial plan might be a better fit.
